Rare, NOS New Departure Hub Parts

Anyone who has ever taken apart a New Departure coaster brake hub will recognize these parts.  The New Departure Model M is their most common coaster brake hub, and the one commonly found on vintage Schwinn cruisers up to the early 1950’s.  They are an effective, if not rather complicated and important bicycle component. New Departures utilize […]

Stolen Coppertone Schwinn Deluxe Racer

This gorgeous, original, coppertone Schwinn Deluxe Racer was stolen Saturday,  February 21st, in Downtown Santa Ana, CA around 8 pm.  Also taken was a 1977 Schwinn Spitfire.  Both bicycles are in original, stock condition.  The bikes were locked together.  They were parked for only twenty minutes. If found, please contact the Orange County Sheriffs Department or contact […]

74 Year Old Schwinn New World

Take a look at this picture of the rear brakes from a recent project.  This beautiful and very original 1941 Schwinn New World a great example of the wonderful vintage bicycles that find their way to the shop.  This bike is a great rider and it is again as usable today as it was 74 […]

Vintage bikes attract all sorts of interesting people.  Our good friend and fellow bicycle enthusiast Chip Foose visited recently and ended up being put to work. Here he is truing a wheel off a 1972 Schwinn Varsity. In case you are wondering, the wheel came out perfect.  Nice job Chip.  If Overhauling ever falls through, you got a  job […]

Vintage Champion Bicycle

Take a look at Larry’s Champion bicycle.  Vintage Mountain Bike? Early BMX? I am guessing it is from the late seventies.  Whatever you want to call it, it is a super rad vintage bicycle.  I am servicing the Bendix model 76 Mexico coaster brake and installing a new chain.  She’ll then be ready for hot […]

Anders’ 1942 Schwinn New World.

Take a look at Anders’ beautiful 1942 or very early 1945 Schwinn New World.  It is sporting a Musselman Olympic Racer patent pending front hub and a Musselman model M rear, coaster-brake.  It is a very rare, “Blackout” bike built during wartime. It will be revived and  back on the road very soon.
